REQUEST FOR BIDS Community High School District 128 is accepting sealed bids for Vernon Hills High School Lighting Replacement at Vernon Hills High School. Electrical Upgrades will be performed at various areas throughout the building. The project will encompass upgrades to light fixtures and related lighting controls. All prospective Bidders must attend a mandatory Pre-Bid Conference Meeting on Thursday May 13, 2021 at 1:00 P.M., at Vernon Hills High School, Main Entrance, 145 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills, IL, 60061. Bidders must attend the meeting in order to familiarize themselves with the project, which will be attended by both the Owner and the Architect. It is the responsibility of the Bidder/Contractor to attend and be signed in by the Owner or Architect (please provide your business card). Failure to attend and be included on the official list of attendees shall result in the rejection of any bids submitted by those non-attending Contractors. The company name registered at sign-in must be the same as that of the company submitting the quotations. This will be the only time that the Contractors shall be allowed escorted access to the project sites. Social distancing and mask wearing guidelines will be strictly followed. Stipulated Lump Sum Bids will be publicly opened at the business office of the School District, 50 Lakeview Pkwy., Suite 101, Vernon Hills, IL 60061, on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 11:30 A.M. Bids received after designated time and date of bid opening shall not be considered. The Architect will transmit to prospective bidders of record any addenda the Architect considers necessary in response to questions arising at the pre-bid conference. Bid security in the form of a bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid shall be submitted with the bid. Performance, labor and material payment bonds and Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful Bidder. The Board of Education, Community High School District 128, reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the School District. All Bidders must comply with Illinois Revised Statutes, 1981, Chapter 48, Section 39s-1 through 39s-12, requiring the payment of prevailing wage rates to all laborers, workmen and mechanics working on publicly-funded projects. If during the time period of work, these rates change, the contractor shall be responsible for additional costs without any change to the contract amount.
